About us

Mason Square Hotel is a boutique hotel, only four rooms, no staff onsite. You check yourself in and enjoy the privacy of your room with no interruption. Each room is uniquely themed to provide you just the right vibe. All rooms enjoy king-size beds and televisions, private baths and Wi-fi access. The hallway is a common area with an artist gallery, a comfy leather couch and in the nook you will find a boot area, an easy bench to stop by and leave your muddy boots after a day hiking, hunting or wheeling in the countryside. Mason Square Hotel is owned by a vagabond couple, the kind you see gypsying around the country, not landing in one place too long. Their work keeps them on the road for most of the year, Big Rich and Shelley are part of many communities, some physical, some geographical, some merely online. Mason, Texas has always been a draw for them. The friendliness of the residents, the closeness to the rest of the world, yet to be remote from most of the troubles in life is what drew them to this magical location. The history in the walls of this old hotel is a quality that can’t be found in all places. Rich and Shelley are rarely in the area, but always at home when they are. The servicing of the hotel is left to First Choice Bed and Breakfast, a booking agent for many of the local bnb’s and guest houses.
